WE WANT TO BRING THE KID OUT IN YOU!!   MARK SATURDAY MAY 15TH ON YOUR CALENDAR AND BOOK YOUR TEAM BEFORE APRIL 1, 2010 ... 

Toss the gala dresses, heels, suits and ties and put on your blue jeans & sneakers for "Be a Kid For a Day" at Camp Kawartha!

This one of a kind fundraising event begins on a bright yellow school bus that will pick you and your staff up at the Kawarhta-Haliburton Children's Aid Society at 1100 Chemong Road in Peterborough - you will be taken to beautiful Camp Kawartha which is nestled on 182 acres of majestic trees overlooking beautiful Clear Lake. You will be greeted by your Camp Counsellors (KHCF Boatd Members) who will get you organized for a great day of team building activities.

There will be four team challenges as follows:

• Voyageur canoe races in authentic Voyageur garb
• Survivor fire competition 
• High ropes and low ropes
• High wall rappelling

For those of you who would like to simply enjoy the beauty of this incredible camp you can take part in:

• Guided nature hikes - there will be 3 of them - 45 minutes each to the boardwalk tepee and encampment area
• Volleyball, basketball, soccer
• Archery, canoeing and kayaking
• Sailing

Escape the the main tepee where local natives will be drumming and sharing native folklore

•  At 5:00pm you can enjoy tasting a wide array of fine Ontario wines in the main lodge as well as a special silent auction featuring summer toys, garden paraphernalia, backyard bliss and more!
• At 7:00pm we will have our award ceremony for the winning teams followed by a scrumptious barbeque dinner in the dining hall. Everyone can create their own special ice cream sundae - just as the kids do at camp!
• After dinner you can delight to the Circle of Fire overlooking the scenic lake where will be enetertained by musicians and can enjoy tasting marshmallows and making s'mores!
•  There will be a cash bar and music in the great hall for those who wish to dance and relax!

Being a kid for a day means you have the option of Day Camp or overnight camp!

Day Camp

At the end of the day the bus will pick yuou up and you will be taken back to the KHCAS - or if you wish to drive your own vehicle - no problem!

Overnight Camp

At the end of the day you can retire to your cabin with y our team for a cost of $30 each. The next morning you will wake up to enjoy a delicious breakfast in the main lodge for a cost of $10.00. At 10:30am the school buses will return to take you back to Peterborugh where you can share all the great times you had by being a part of Be a Kid for a Day!

This unique, fun filled weekend will help send many children who are involved with the K-H Children's Aid Society to camp this summer - in fact many of them will be going to Camp Kawartha!

Your ticket costs $70 each and it covers:

• Return bus transportation
• Supervised activities by professional guides
• Wine tasting from a variety of Ontario wineries
• Silent auction with great summer themed items
• Three-course barbeque dinner
• Musical entertainment by the campfire
